“In Jud I find the friend, coach and therapist every artist needs in the studio. Whether it's your debut record or your latest veteran project, it's luxurious to have such an experienced musician and engineer to bring out the best in your recorded performance. And Frog Hollow is right here in midcoast Maine! I don't need to travel to L.A. or Abbey Road or Nashville to have that.” - Tate Gale

Jud has been involved in digital recording for over 30 years. His first recordings were made on a Synclavier while he was an undergraduate at Dartmouth College in 1993. In 1998, Jud released the first projects from his own home studio. 25 years and five studios later, he's still excited about the magic of music and sound and thrilled to be working with so many talented artists.
At Frog Hollow Studio, Jud has engineered projects ranging from singer/songwriters to choirs. He has recorded his own award-winning CDs and mastered two CDs for Kyser Capos. He has recorded spoken-word, poetry, rock, country, folk, bluegrass and New Age music.
Jud holds a B.A. in Music from Dartmouth College.
“Why should one use Frog Hollow Studio? In short, it’s the person running the board. I record all of my music at FHS because Jud knows his craft as an engineer inside and out. As an accomplished singer-songwriter, Jud also understands the creative process and can couple this with his production knowledge and instinct to make the music and the artist become the best they can be. And he accomplishes all of this without wasting your finances - he is enormously efficient in the studio. He is prepared when musicians arrive, and knows how to coax the best performance from them in order to turn their art into something special. Do yourself an enormous favor. Go to Frog Hollow.” - Gordon Thomas Ward
“I have recorded four albums at Frog Hollow Studio and hope to make many more. Not only is Jud a top notch engineer, he somehow is able to facilitate an experience that is efficient and professional but also feels relaxed and low pressure.” - Paddy Mills
